Adopt a resolution authorizing the County Manager to grant an Easement Deed to Pacific Gas & Electric Company on County-owned property identified as APN: 052-341-250 and located in 555 County Center Redwood City Parking Structure 1 for the purposes of installing and maintaining electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

BACKGROUND:
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) initiated the Electric Vehicle Charge Network (EVCN) program in 2019 to offer electric vehicle charging installations at workplaces and multi-unit residential dwellings. EVCN is a turnkey program wherein PG&E, at their expense, provides the complete design and installation of EV charging infrastructure. The County applied to be a part of the EVCN program for 60 charging ports at the County Center Parking Structure 1 and was accepted as an EV Sponsor by PG&E. As an EV Sponsor, the County signed a Customer Acceptance Agreement on April 2, 2019 to receive approximately $900,000 worth of EV charging infrastructure from PG&E to be installed by their contractor. In order to initiate construction, the County must grant an easement deed to access the County Center Parking Structure 1.
DISCUSSION:
PG&E has planned for the installation of new EV charging infrastructure, which includes a new utility meter, electrical infrastructure, and 60 charging ports through the EVCN program. PG&E has completed the design, which has been reviewed by the Department of Public Works, the Planning and Building Department, and the Office of Sustainability. PG&E has received the necessary permits for construction.
