BACKGROUND:
Daly City Peninsula Partnership Collaborative (DCPPC) has been providing services under contract for the County of San Mateo since 1995. They are currently serving students through academic support, access to enrichment activities, and connection to local community resources. DCPPC is the only on-site provider at all requisite school sites in northern San Mateo County and is thereby a sole source provider.

Many families within the northern region of San Mateo County are immigrants and their children are English Language Learners (ELL). Additional academic support for ELL is beneficial to elementary and middle school youth, helping them acquire English, so they can achieve grade level proficiency in Common Core standards which integrate the use of English in all subjects. The Human Services Agency (HSA) has identified the need for comprehensive out-of-school Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math programs in the northern region of San Mateo County.

DCPPC leverages funding provided by HSA with funding from fee-based programs, four school districts, and Silicon Valley Community Foundation to support after school academic programs, pre-kindergarten programs, and community events serving Daly City and South San Francisco youth and their families.
