BACKGROUND:
Under Chapter 26.5 of the Government Code, psychological assessments are required for special education youth referred for mental health services. Services will include psychological testing and evaluations for youth in the juvenile justice system, assessments and testimony in selected cases requiring mediation and/or fair hearings, and clinical supervision of clinical psychology interns.

In April 2007, Mental Health Services issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for youth assessment services. No proposals were received for these services. David McIntyre was subsequently identified by staff as the only known qualified provider of these services.

DISCUSSION:
David McIntyre will provide psychological assessments for special education youth referred for mental health services under Chapter 26.5 of the Government Code. Services will also include psychological testing and evaluations for youth in the juvenile justice system, assessments and testimony in selected cases requiring mediation and/or fair hearings, and clinical supervision of clinical psychology interns.
