BACKGROUND:
On March 29, 2011, your Board adopted Resolution No. 071336 which authorized the Director of Public Works to execute and accept grant agreements with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the California Department of Transportation (State DOT).

On July 7, 2017, the Director of Public Works executed a FAA grant to fund the design of the San Carlos Airport Runway Project and Taxiways Pavement Rehabilitation Project (Projects).

DISCUSSION:
The San Carlos Airport Runway Pavement Rehabilitation Project will include crack repair, seal coat and re-striping (approximately 50,000 square yards). Design of the Taxiways Pavement Project will eliminate one set of parallel taxiways at the San Carlos Airport to meet FAA design standards.
