Adopt a resolution authorizing the assignment of the agreement with Regatta Solutions, Inc., to Cal Microturbine, Inc., for the remainder of the contract under the same terms and conditions to maintain existing factory protection plan services from the manufacturer, Capstone Turbine, for the term through March 31, 2019, in the amount of $59,279.40.

BACKGROUND:
On March 12, 2013, your Board adopted Resolution No. 072408 authorizing an Agreement with Regatta Solutions for services, repair and rebuild of the microturbines at the Youth Services Center (YSC) for the term of April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2019. Microturbines provide a cleaner and more efficient source of heat and electricity to the YSC, which is considered an essential service facility.
On May 10, 2018, the Department of Public Works (Department) received notice that Regatta Solutions, Inc. (Regatta) will no longer provide factory protection plan services under their contract with the Department. Capstone Turbine, the manufacturer of the microturbines, advised the County they will continue to provide factory protection plan services under a new service provider, Cal Microturbine, Inc. The existing agreement with Regatta Solutions does not allow for assignment of service to another provider who is authorized by the manufacturer to continue factory protection services. Cal Microturbine is also the only authorized provider of factory protection services authorized by the manufacturer in this region.
