Adopt a resolution authorizing:
A) The submittal of an application for $750,000 of San Mateo County Transportation Authority Measure A Pedestrian and Bicycle Program funds for the Complete the Gap Trail Project, and acceptance of such funds if awarded; and
B) The County Parks Director to execute a funding agreement in support of same and any necessary ancillary documents; and
C) The commitment of $750,000 in local cash match to the completion of the Complete the Gap Trail Project if awarded the requested funding from the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.

BACKGROUND:
The County-managed Crystal Springs Regional Trail is one of the most popular non-motorized multiple-use trails in the San Francisco Bay Area. An 800-foot-long gap exists between the future Crystal Springs Dam Bridge Trail segment and the completed Crystal Springs Regional Trail South of Dam Segment.
On January 5, 2015, your Board approved the acceptance of a $300,000 San Mateo County Transportation Authority Pedestrian and Bicycle Program grant. (Resolution 074292). This grant has partially paid for the designs, plans, permits, and specifications for the Complete the Gap Trail Project. We anticipate the 100% plan set to be available in spring 2018.
DISCUSSION:
The Complete the Gap Trail ("Gap Trail") will be an 800-foot-long multi-use segment on the western shoulder of Skyline Boulevard with seamless transitions to the Crystal Springs Dam Bridge Trail section and South of Dam Trail section.
