BACKGROUND:
The County-managed Crystal Springs Regional Trail is one of the most popular non-motorized multiple-use trails in the San Francisco Bay Area. An 800-foot-long gap exists between the future Crystal Springs Dam Bridge Trail segment and the completed Crystal Springs Regional Trail South of Dam Segment.
On January 5, 2015, your Board approved the acceptance of a $300,000 San Mateo County Transportation Authority Pedestrian and Bicycle Program grant. (Resolution 074292). This grant has partially paid for the designs, plans, permits, and specifications for the Complete the Gap Trail Project. We anticipate the 100% plan set to be available in spring 2018.
DISCUSSION:
The Complete the Gap Trail ("Gap Trail") will be an 800-foot-long multi-use segment on the western shoulder of Skyline Boulevard with seamless transitions to the Crystal Springs Dam Bridge Trail section and South of Dam Trail section.
