BACKGROUND:
On October 19, 2021 this Board adopted Resolution No. 078497(d), which authorized the Agreement with AECOM Technical Services (AECOM) to provide construction management and professional services in the amount not-to-exceed $1,500,000.

On October 3, 2023 this Board adopted Resolution No. 079983, which authorized Amendment No. 1 that increased the not to exceed amount of the agreement by $700,000 to $2,200,000.

DISCUSSION:
Amendment No. 2 increases the not-to-exceed amount of the Agreement to $2,840,000. AECOM has been providing construction management services for the Middlefield Road Improvement Project (Project) through Task Orders issued by the Department of Public Works (Department). While the Project has made significant progress, it continues to encounter additional delays due unanticipated underground conflicts and extensive coordination with UPRR, Caltrain, and SamTrans. As construction progresses, AECOM construction management services will continue to be required, including resolving unforeseen conflicts, reviewing and negotiating change orders, assessing work under a time and materials basis, and inspecting the remaining work for the Project.
