BACKGROUND:

The Team of the Month program was established in September 2018 to recognize and honor County teams who consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of performance.

Our Team of the Month for April 2024 are the Dispatchers of Public Safety Communications (“Dispatchers”).

DISCUSSION:

Dispatchers are committed to serving the community as first responders, answering phone calls, and reassuring the community that public safety partners are just a phone call away.  On an everyday basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Dispatchers answer emergency calls, provide guidance and comfort during emergencies, ultimately  sending resources to help those in need.  In calendar year 2023, Dispatchers answered 361,249 calls for service, which is an average of 30,204 calls per month. Daily, Dispatchers demonstrate that San Mateo County Public Communications is a center of excellence in police, fire and medical dispatching.

Our County is fortunate to have the Dispatchers of Public Safety Communications, an outstanding Team.
