Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Cielo House, Inc. for comprehensive treatment services for clients diagnosed with eating disorders, increasing the amount by $850,000 to an amount not to exceed $1,250,000, with no change to the term of the agreement.

BACKGROUND:
In 2018, the California Department of Health Care Services added eating disorders to the conditions that County Specialty Mental Health Services like Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) are mandated to treat. It was at this time that BHRS identified a need to fill a service gap for Severely Mentally Ill (SMI) adult clients diagnosed with moderate to severe eating disorders, as defined in the DSM-5, that require a more specialized and intensive level of treatment. No BHRS clinic or program could effectively address the comprehensive behavioral, dietary, and medical needs associated with moderate/severe eating disorders. Given this lack of in-house expertise, BHRS reached out to several local providers. Cielo House Inc. (Cielo House) was the only in-county provider that met BHRS' requirements to provide comprehensive and specialized treatment for clients diagnosed with eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and eating disorders not otherwise specified. Since then, Cielo House has been providing eating disorders comprehensive treatment services.
In September 2022, this Board authorized an agreement with Cielo House for the term July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $400,000.
