BACKGROUND:
Jefferson Union High School District (JUHSD) operates the Daly City Youth Health Center (DCYHC), which provides youth with outpatient mental health services in Pacifica, Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, and parts of South San Francisco, and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) prevention services to reduce access to and availability of alcohol and other drugs to youth.

DISCUSSION:
Through this agreement, DCYHC will provide mental health services to Seriously Emotionally Disturbed/System of Care youth in the DCYHC clinic and on JUHSD campuses. DCYHC will also provide AOD prevention and brief intervention services. In an effort to decrease stressors that lead to AOD use, DCYHC staff will also review the JUHSD suspension policies and provide feedback and recommendations for strategies to keep students in school. In addition, JUHSD will be the lead and fiscal agency for the community-based partnership in the Northwest portion of San Mateo County by providing AOD-related prevention services while continuing to reduce access to and availability of AOD to youth.
