Adopt a resolution rejecting all bids received for the Quarry Park Fire Road Extension Project.

BACKGROUND:
On May 9, 2023, this Board adopted Resolution No. 079603, which adopted the plans and specifications, including conformance with prevailing wage scale requirements and called for sealed bids, for the Quarry Park Fire Road Extension Project (Project).
DISCUSSION:
On Thursday, June 1, 2023, two bids were received for the Project and subsequently referred to the Department of Public Works (Department) for checking and recommendation. The bids were submitted by Storesund Construction, Inc. and Granite Rock Company. Both bids were considerably higher than the Engineer’s Estimate of $1,000,000. The Department recommends that all bids received for this Project be rejected and the Project be re-advertised for bids at a later time.
County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact on the General Fund.
