BACKGROUND:

The Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC) is responsible for reviewing and reporting its observations and recommendations to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the local Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS Agency) regarding the emergency medical services system. The Committee monitors and presents recommendations to improve emergency medical care in San Mateo County.

The EMCC consists of 20 members appointed by the Board, for terms of four years, for up to three consecutive terms. Among EMCC’s 20 members it must have, among other requirements, one (1) registered nurse who is currently an emergency nurse at a San Mateo County 9-1-1 emergency medical services system receiving hospital.

Patrice Callagy has served on the EMCC since an initial partial term beginning September 2014, and is being recommended for reappointment into a second full four-year term effective April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2026.

Patrice currently serves as the Executive Director of Emergency Services at Stanford Health Care and brings to the EMCC 35 years of experience in emergency nursing. Patrice is also along-time resident of San Mateo County.
