BACKGROUND:
In January 2020, this Board approved an agreement with Advanced Monitoring Method, LLC (AdvM2) for a temperature and humidity monitoring service to assist San Mateo County Health (SMCH) divisions to remain compliant with federal regulatory standards for storage of medication, vaccines, and patient nourishment, for the term of January 28, 2020, through March 31, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $180,760. AdvM2 was selected as the result of a Request for Proposals released by SMCH.
DISCUSSION:
The current agreement with AdvM2 expires on March 31, 2023. This amendment will increase the maximum amount by $120,894 and extend the term of the agreement by three years through March 31, 2026.
Under this amendment, the AdvM2 platform will continue to provide SMCH divisions with a cloud-based temperature monitoring system to meet annual regulatory standards with the flexibility to monitor the entire operation and take corrective actions from any computer, smartphone, or tablet.
The amendment and resolution have been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney as to form.
The resolution contains the County’s standard provisions allowing amendment of the County’s fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).
The Information Services Department has reviewed and approved the IT component of this agreement.
It is anticipated that by continuing to contract with AdvM2, SMCH divisions will be able to respond in 10 minutes for temperature monitoring alerts.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The term of the amended agreement is January 28, 2020, through March 31, 2026. The amount of the amended agreement is to be at most, $326,654 for a six-year term. The amendment increases the amount payable under the agreement by $120,894. Funding will be covered by charges to other SMCH divisions.
