Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Federal Engineering, Inc. to provide microwave and land mobile radio project management and subject matter expert consulting services for the term of March 28, 2023, through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $536,300.

BACKGROUND:
The County of San Mateo, Information Services Department (ISD) operates a muti-technology countywide public radio system interconnecting through an extensive network namely: microwave-radio, optical-fiber, and leased circuit facilities that provides support to critical public safety communications for various public agencies throughout the County.
On September 13, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution Number 079136 authorizing an agreement with Aviat U.S., Inc. to provide services to engineer and implement the Microwave System Upgrade Project for the term of September 13, 2022 through September 12, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $6,451,432.
On April 8, 2022, ISD issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) Number ISD-20221860 to identify one vendor with extensive technical experience, availability of local personnel, and resources for the purpose of providing project management and subject matter expert consulting services for the Microwave System Upgrade Project and other Land Mobile Radio Projects.
DISCUSSION:
Due to the complex nature of upgrading a microwave system, it is in the best interest of the County to execute an agreement with Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to provide project management and subject matter expert services (SME) for overall project execution and support. In addition...
