BACKGROUND:
On January 11, 2022, through Resolution No. 078660, your Board approved the agreement with the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) for the distribution of FY 2021 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant funds for the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) in the amount of $6,597,741, and for a term commencing November 1, 2021, through December 31, 2022.

On October 4, 2022, through Resolution No. 079226, your Board approved the first amendment to the FY 2021 UASI grant agreement increasing the amount by $671,250 to $7,268,991 and extending the term to May 31, 2023.

On February 8, 2023, through Resolution No. 079226, the Sheriff approved the second amendment to the FY 2021 UASI grant agreement extending the term to June 30, 2023.

On February 16, 2023, the CCSF issued the third amendment to the FY 2021 UASI grant agreement increasing the amount by $55,000 from $7,268,991 to $7,323,991, and extending the term from May 31, 2023, to December 31, 2023. The additional funds will be used by the NCRIC to purchase training materials and supplies for the trainings and symposiums to law enforcement personnel and other NCRIC participants operating in the NCRIC's area of responsibility on domestic terrorism, domestic violent extremism prevention, and crime gun intelligence.
