BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

The Youth Services Center’s (YSC) existing cooling tower equipment has failed. The cooling tower is necessary to provide cool air to the YSC. This Project will make the necessary repairs including replacement of the cooling tower fill and hot water basin as well as preventative maintenance activities.

This Project was originally approved through Project Fund Transfer FY 2021-22 - No.3 in March of 2022 for $197,550. Since that time, it has been determined that the Project requires the use of a different vendor, which has resulted in greater cost proposal than the original Project fund transfer. Additional funds are needed to contract with the vendor and complete this Project,.

The County Executive’s Office will be providing the funds for this Project.

County Attorney has reviewed and approved the memorandum as to form.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of the Appropriation Transfer Request will recognize unanticipated revenue in the amount of $222,000 to the Department of Public Works. Non-Departmental Services has sufficient appropriations in the FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget to cover this Project.
