RECOMMENDATION:
title
Measure K: Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) recognizing unanticipated revenue in the amount of $500,000 from Measure K Reserves to the Project Development Unit Capital Program for FY 2022-23 for the North Fair Oaks Library Improvement project.
body
BACKGROUND:
The North Fair Oaks Library provides vital services to approximately 25,000 residents of unincorporated San Mateo County. These essential services include access to computers and WiFi, English learning, and literacy classes, after school program homework support for children and families, summer learning camps, and access to healthy meals.
DISCUSSION:
The Project Development Unit (PDU) has been asked to investigate the potential reprograming and or renovation of space at the North Fair Oaks Library located at 2510 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. Initial scope of services is to develop programming design options for consideration by the County’s leadership team to reposition the present facility.
Funding was originally included in the FY 2021-22 PDU capital program under Non-Departmental Services but was not rolled over to FY 2022-23. Approval of this appropriation transfer will allow for the continuation of work currently underway by, inter alia, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of the Appropriation Transfer Request will recognize unanticipated revenue in the amount of $500,000 from Measure K Reserves to the Project Development Unit. There are sufficient funds in the Measure K trust to cover this transfer.
