Adopt a resolution authorizing a seventh amendment with the San Mateo County Economic Development Association for support and assistance with implementation of the economic recovery components of the San Mateo County Recovery Initiative by extending the term of the agreement through March 30, 2023 and increasing the amount payable by $90,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $834,810.

BACKGROUND:
On July 9, 2020, the County entered into an agreement with San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA) to assist small and medium sized businesses recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and business enrollment for the Choose Local Program for the term June 9, 2020 to January 9, 2021, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 (the "Agreement"). The County has entered into six previous amendments of the Agreement which, in aggregate, have increased the amount of the agreement by $669,810 for a not to exceed amount of $744,810, and extended the term of the Agreement through September 30, 2022. The County now wishes to amend the agreement for a seventh time to increase the maximum not to exceed amount by $90,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $834,810.
DISCUSSION:
Through six amendments, the total amount authorized to be expended under the agreement with SAMCEDA is $744,810. The ongoing economic recovery work done by SAMCEDA in partnership with the Peninsula Chinese Business Association to do grant program outreach accounts for $264,810 of the total.
