Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Tamar Meidav, M.D. for psychiatry services for the term of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $619,476.

BACKGROUND:

Dr. Meidav has worked as a child psychiatrist for Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) since 2003.

 

DISCUSSION:

Under this agreement, Dr. Meidav will provide psychiatry services for children and youth at various County mental health clinics. The services shall include child and youth medication evaluation and treatment, psychotherapy and family consultation, residency training, and case consultation with staff. Dr. Meidav shall provide services up to an average of 19 hours per week.

 

Under the B-1 Administrative Memorandum, agreements with physicians are exempt from the requirement for a Request for Proposals process.

The resolution contains the County’s standard provision allowing amendment of the County’s fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).

The agreement and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Attorney as to form.

 

It is anticipated that 80% of clients served will maintain their current or lower level of care.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The term of the agreement is July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025. The amount of the agreement is not to exceed $619,476 for the three-year term. Funds in the amount of $206,492 will be included in the BHRS FY 2022-23 Recommended Budget. Of that amount, Medi-Cal will fund $82,597; 1991 Realignment will fund $82,597; and 2011 Realignment for Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment will fund $41,298. There is no Net County Cost associated with this agreement.  

 

The payment provisions and service levels in the agreement are essentially the same as in the prior agreement. Similar arrangements will be made for future years.
