Subject: Funding Agreement with the California Department of Aging for the Older Americans Act Title III; VII, Ombudsman and Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program; Financial Alignment; Dignity at Home Fall Prevention Program; and the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act, and Executing Provider Agreements for these Services
RECOMMENDATION:

Acting as the Governing Board of the Area Agency on Aging for the County of San Mateo, adopt a resolution authorizing:
A) The Chief of San Mateo County Health or the Chief's designee to enter into funding agreement(s) with the California Department of Aging to accept Older Americans Act funds for programs and services under Title III; Title VII; Ombudsman; Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program; Financial Alignment; Dignity at Home Fall Prevention Program; and the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act; and to accept and disburse COVID-19 relief funds from the California Department of Aging; and
B) The Chief of San Mateo County Health or the Chief's designee to execute the Older Americans Act community provider agreements for a total amount not to exceed $4,754,748, during or for the term of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

BACKGROUND:
Every four years, the Board of Supervisors, acting as the Governing Board for the Area Agency on Aging for the County of San Mateo, reviews and approves an Area Plan for the County's submission to the California Department of Aging (CDA). The Area Plan provides a profile of the County's senior population, identifies goals for addressing the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities, and makes recommendations for services to be funded with San Mateo County's Older Americans Act of 1965 (OAA) funds.
