BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 2021, the Board of Supervisors executed an agreement with Youth Leadership Institute to: 1) serve as the lead agency for substance use disorder prevention services through its Friday Night Live (FNL) program in the Half Moon Bay region of the County; 2) assess the knowledge of county residents, provide education on the impacts of opioids and cannabis/vaping, and engage the community to determine effective ways to limit access and exposure to opioids; 3) serve as the lead agency for smoke free multi-unit housing efforts in San Mateo County; 4) assess the experience of county residents related to secondhand smoke, provide education on the impacts of tobacco products, and engage youth/young adults on effective ways to limit access and/or exposure to tobacco products; 5) lead outreach and engagement of at-risk youth to decreasing stigma related to mental health services and connecting youth to needed services via technology solutions and 6) serve as the co-chair to the Half Moon Bay coastal region of San Mateo County for the term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, ...
