BACKGROUND:
California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Sexually Transmitted Disease Control Branch will support health departments to increase capacity to conduct sexually transmitted disease (STD) investigation, linkage to prevention and treatment, case management and oversight, and outbreak response for other infectious diseases. The purpose of this grant is to support jurisdictional prevention and response activities. CDPH expects public health agencies to use available funding to hire personnel to address jurisdictional STD response needs over the performance period, including hiring of personnel to build capacity to address public health priorities deriving from STD and other infectious diseases.

DISCUSSION:
Funding from this award is used to increase capacity by hiring personnel to conduct STD investigation (case investigation and contact tracing), linkage to prevention and treatment, case management and oversight, and outbreak response for STD and other infectious diseases.

The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County's fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).
