Subject: Amendment to the Agreement with Hambleton Compliance LLC to Provide Compliance Consulting Services

RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Hambleton Compliance LLC to provide compliance consulting services, increasing the amount by $50,000 to an amount not to exceed $250,000, with no change to the agreement term.

body
BACKGROUND:
In October 2021, the Chief Executive Officer of the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) approved an agreement with Hambleton Compliance LLC (Hambleton) to serve as Interim Chief Compliance Officer to provide coverage during the absence of SMMC's Chief Compliance Officer. Hambleton was chosen for their expertise in this area and familiarity with SMMC having previously served in this capacity under similar circumstances in 2019.

DISCUSSION:
SMMC underestimated the amount of time needed for this engagement, and as a result, there is not enough money to fund the agreement through the remainder of the term. SMMC is requesting this Board to waive the Request for Proposals process to allow Hambleton to continue to provide these services and increase the funding through the end of the term.

County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.

The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).

It is anticipated that inquiries will be responded to within 24 hours 100% of the time.
