BACKGROUND:
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) engineering and permitting process requires easement to be granted due to the new gas distribution infrastructure that will be installed as part of the Cordilleras utility upgrades. As part of the final design, a PG&E joint-trench is required to be installed from beyond the east property line of the project, down Edmonds Rd, and completing in the vicinity of the CalFire station and new service yard. The gas service infrastructure located in the joint-trench is designed to tie-into PG&E's existing gas distribution infrastructure between fire station and Canyon Oaks.
DISCUSSION:
PG&E design and engineering is completed, and construction permits issued. Before construction phase can begin, County must grant an easement deed to be filed with the County Recorder allowing PG&E access to the gas utility corridor to be installed along Edmonds Rd. from east property line boundary across the project site to an area near Canyon Oaks. PG&E land representatives have coordinated directly with County Real Property to confirm the easement terms and conditions as presented by the attached proposed Easement. The Easement coordinates are based upon survey, legal description, and plat produced by KPFF/BKF.
Real Property Services and County Counsel have reviewed the PG&E Easement Deed and have approved the Resolution and Deed as to form.
Approval of this request will allow PG&E to provide a gas distribution pathway to the project and continued utility infrastructure to the facility.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no compensation by either party associated with this transaction.
