BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The County has conducted a recruitment for the position of Assistant County Manager. Peggy Jensen has been nominated by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based her extensive executive leadership experience. Ms. Jensen’s 33-year career with the County has included serving as Deputy County Manager for the past 15 years and prior to this role, serving as the Director of Child Support Services. Ms. Jensen’s exceptional leadership has been vital to the organization as she has successfully led countywide initiatives including most recently the Pandemic Recovery Initiative, Home for All Initiative, and homelessness projects. Ms. Jensen’s expertise, collaborative approach, creative thinking, and strong communication and management experience will continue to benefit the organization and community we serve.
Pursuant to County Ordinance Code 2.00.060, the Assistant County Manager is a department head. The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm appointments of department heads nominated by the County Manager.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Ms. Jensen will start at the Assistant County Manager Step D level. The compensation and benefits for this position are set forth in the County’s Resolution establishing the salary and benefits for the unrepresented Management Employees of the County approved by this Board in January of 2019.
