Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Corovan Moving and Storage to provide warehousing services for storage of emergency medical equipment and supplies, and act as the primary location for Strategic National Stockpile assets from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for the term of December 6, 2021 through December 5, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $740,000.

BACKGROUND:
Federal funds have been made available through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to enhance the nation's public health emergency preparedness and response infrastructure. In collaboration with the local hospitals, San Mateo County Health (County Health) uses a portion of these funds to lease warehouse space for storage of emergency medical equipment and to act as the primary location to receive Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) assets for disaster response, mitigation, and recovery.
Since 2014, County Health has maintained this emergency medical stockpile in part to serve hospitals and local health care providers with a closely located source of material in emergency conditions and during local shortages.
Throughout the COVID-19 emergency response, the County Health warehouse has served as the primary location for receipt and storage of emergency medical materials and supplies managed by the San Mateo County Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator (MHOAC) program, supporting local healthcare providers and County departments providing essential services.
