BACKGROUND:

On 8/3/2021 the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution authorizing the County Manager to execute a Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Judicial Council of California and the Superior Court of California, San Mateo County, to extend the Scheduled Completion Date for Hall of Justice Tenant Improvements to March 31, 2025 and to provide $516,392 as the County’s contribution toward the cost of reopening Central Branch Courthouse.

The Courts have requested tenant improvements to open their Central Branch in San Mateo which was taken offline previously but being reopened to release some of the case load pressure that is occurring at their Redwood City location.  This ATR will cover the expenditure and make County Support for the Courts budget whole again for FY 2021-22.

Fiscal Impact:
There is no impact to the General Fund.
