Subject: Establishment of "No Parking" Zones on Vermont Avenue and North Lake Street, Unincorporated Moss Beach

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a resolution authorizing the establishment of "No Parking" zones on Vermont Avenue and North Lake Street in unincorporated Moss Beach.

BACKGROUND:
This Board has adopted similar resolutions designating parking restrictions.

Section 22507 et al. of the California Vehicle Code and Section 7.30.010 of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code provides that local authorities may prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking or standing of vehicles by resolution or ordinance.

In reviewing the parking resolutions/ordinances, staff was unable to locate a resolution restricting parking on North Lake Street and/or Vermont Ave, however, there are existing "No Parking" zones posted along both sides of North Lake Street and Vermont Avenue in the vicinity of Virginia Avenue. The proposed parking restriction is to recognize these parking restriction zones.

The location of parking zones and other traffic restrictions on County-maintained streets are currently shown on maps in the Department's office and website and will be made available in list form on the Department's website. The master list will be updated to reflect the recommended changes, should this Board approve the proposed resolution.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.
