Recommendation for reappointments to the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors, each as a Director for a 3-year term ending September 30, 2024:
A) Kari Foppiano for a fourth term; and
B) James Tucker, for a second term; and
C) Steven Wong, for a second term.

BACKGROUND:
The Exposition and Fair Association directs the use of Event Center facilities. Directors are responsible for policy in the management and daily operation and maintenance of the Event Center.
DISCUSSION:
Kari Foppiano began serving on the Event Center Board since her partial 2-year term in 2010. Upon approval of this reappointment, this will be Kari's fourth full 3-year term. James Tucker and Steven Wong each began serving on the Event Center Board in 2018 and are seeking a second term.
Kari teaches in the San Mateo Foster City Elementary School District. She has taught 32 years at San Mateo Park School. During her time at Park School, Kari has served as lead teacher, curriculum development representative, Math Olympics, Labor Task Force, PTA representative and additional school wide leadership positions.
Kari and her husband Dave have raised their two children in San Mateo. As a member of the Beresford Homeowners Association, Kari participated in the San Mateo Citizens Academy. Kari currently serves on the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors. She served two terms as vice-president and one term as president. She has dedicated her time on the Fair Oversight Committee to increase educational activities for adults and children.
