Adopt a resolution authorizing the County's Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the Menlo Park City School District and the Town of Woodside in conjunction with a special election to be held on November 2, 2021.

body
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 10002 of the California Elections Code, the governing body of any city or district may request the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the County's Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election. Subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors, these services shall be performed by the County's Chief Elections Officer.

The governing body of the Menlo Park City School District has issued a resolution calling for a parcel tax measure, and the Town Council of Woodside has issued a resolution for an initiative measure amending Woodside Municipal Code Section 153.113, both to be submitted to voters at a special election on November 2, 2021 ("November 2, 2021 Special Election").

DISCUSSION:
The requests of the above-mentioned governing bodies for the November 2, 2021 Special Election are proper, the County's Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing the specified election services as requested, and all related costs will be reimbursed by the requesting cities and districts to the extent authorized by law.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Resolution as to form.
