Adopt a resolution authorizing:
A) The acceptance of a grant from the California Health Facilities Financing Authority to provide a dedicated youth space in San Mateo Medical Center's Psychiatric Emergency Services unit, for the term of April 29, 2021 through August 31, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $618,915; and
B) The Chief Executive Officer of San Mateo Medical Center to execute any and all documents and agreements associated with the acceptance of the California Health Facilities Financing Authority grant.

BACKGROUND:
Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) and San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) continuously seek out opportunities to enhance their comprehensive Youth Mental Health Crisis Continuum of Care that integrates essential elements of behavioral health prevention, early intervention, response, stabilization and transition supports for youth in crisis. This continuum supports the County's vision of safer communities for youth and families, where they realize a meaningful life, and the challenges of mental health and or substance use are addressed in a respectful, compassionate, holistic, culturally responsive and effective manner.
DISCUSSION:
With the funds from the California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA), SMMC will collaborate with BHRS and the Department of Public Works to renovate the SMMC Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) unit to offer new youth-dedicated crisis stabilization services within the unit.
