BACKGROUND:
The Agricultural Advisory Committee actively assists in the preservation of agriculture throughout San Mateo County through advice and recommendation to the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.

DISCUSSION:
Peter Marchi and Judith Humburg were each initially appointed to the Agricultural Advisory Committee in 2019 to serve partial terms ending June 30, 2021. Upon approval of this reappointment, they will each serve for a first full term ending June 30, 2025. Ron Sturgeon has served on the committee since 2017 and is being recommended to serve a second term upon approval of this reappointment.

Peter Marchi is a third-generation farmer on the San Mateo County coastside and has many years of experience and knowledge to contribute to the Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC). Peter sees his membership on the AAC as an opportunity to share his farming knowledge and experience with others in order to protect and preserve agriculture within the County of San Mateo.

Judith Humburg is a former Vice Chair and board member of the local Slow Food South Bay, a chapter of Slow Food USA. In this capacity, she often arranged 'meet the farmer' dinners, site tours and volunteer days for the membership.
