RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Xanitos, Inc. to provide environmental consulting services, extending the term of the agreement through November 25, 2021, and increasing the amount by $210,000, to an amount not to exceed $410,000.

body
BACKGROUND:
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) experienced an increase in demand for cleaning and disinfection services throughout the hospital. By using the SMMC group purchasing organization, Xanitos, Inc. was chosen to provide environmental consulting services for the Environmental Services team.

DISCUSSION:
SMMC has an ongoing need for environmental consulting services to assess the June 15th reopening and the change of guidelines from Cal-OSHA. Increasing the amount of the current contract by $210,000 and extending the term by six months will help SMMC address this need. This agreement is going to your Board late due to prolonged negotiations with the vendor.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.

The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).

It is anticipated that the hospital and clinics will be cleaned adhering to CDC guidelines and the Joint Commission and Infection Control standards 100% of the time.
