BACKGROUND:
In January 2017, the Project Development Unit (PDU) was formed to oversee and manage ground-up construction performed by the County of San Mateo. Multiple large County capital projects are underway which will require intensified PDU operations for several years. PDU requires substantial support from specialized consultants, including project management consultants, to appropriately manage these critical and complex projects.

DISCUSSION:
Following a Request for Proposals, the County selected EVO, Inc. as a provider of project management services. On August 20, 2018, the Director of the Project Development Unit authorized an agreement with EVO with an expiration date of August 19, 2021. Subsequentially, this Board approved two additional amendments totaling an amount not to exceed $799,900. The amendment will extend the term of the agreement for an additional three years and increase the amount by $300,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,099,900.

The Resolution contains County standard provisions authorizing the PDU Director to approve amendments to the Agreements increasing the County's fiscal obligation by a maximum of $25,000 for each agreement.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Resolution and Amendment as to form.
