BACKGROUND:
San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has a continuing need for contracted medical staff to provide emergency and correctional health services.

Parties entered into an agreement in which CEP America - California, a California general partnership dba Vituity ("Vituity") has assumed responsibility for all correctional health services and emergency services for SMMC. The services include administrative and clinical duties. Specifically, correctional clinical activities include, but are not limited to, clinical services at all correctional facilities to inmates, consult to clinical staff, review of medical records, and on-call service. Emergency services include, but are not limited to, the emergency department being staffed 24 hours a day, with physicians working a maximum of 12 hour shifts and responding to calls from Correctional Health Services and Cordilleras Mental Health Center. The term of the Agreement is from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022.

DISCUSSION:
Vituity has now agreed to provide Substance Use Disorder Patient Navigators ("Navigators") to act as care coordinators, an integral team member supporting a statewide initiative to improve access to medication for opioid use disorder.
