RECOMMENDATION:

title

Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc., extending the term to June 30, 2021 and increasing the maximum fiscal obligation by $18,425 for a new, not to exceed amount of $405,688.

body

BACKGROUND:

In 1998, Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) was selected through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to provide a cardkey security system for County facilities. As part of the County’s overall security plan, this system was installed into most County facilities.

On April 10, 2018, Resolution No. 075837 authorized the Department of Public Works (Department) to enter into a service agreement with JCI to provide Cardkey Security Systems at the San Carlos Airport. The agreement with JCI expired on June 30, 2019.

DISCUSSION:

At the time the agreement expired, JCI had not yet completed the full scope of work. JCI continued working at the San Carlos Airport on both the original scope of work and a necessary security control workstation for airport operations. Additional funding is for the procurement and installation of a camera monitoring station at the San Carlos Airport Terminal Building for Airport operations staff.

Approval of this amendment will allow the Department to finalize the installation, complete staff training, and pay additional project fees.

County Counsel has approved this resolution and agreements as to form. The Information Services Department (ISD) has reviewed and approved these agreements.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this agreement is included in the Airport Enterprise Fund budget. There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
