BACKGROUND:

The South County Mental Health Program (Program) has been located at 802 Brewster, Redwood City (Clinic), since 1995.  The existing lease is set to expire on March 31, 2021, and the department wishes to extend the term of the agreement, subject to the  Landlord providing certain Leasehold Improvements.

DISCUSSION:

Real Property Services has negotiated an extension of the lease agreement for a term through March 31, 2026, at a monthly Base Rent of $64,428,71, with annual 3% increases, and one renewal option for one additional five-year period.  County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Lease as to form. The Director of County Health concurs in this recommendation.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The monthly Base Rent will be paid from Org #61405, the Behavioral Health South County Administration fund.
