Adopt a resolution authorizing and directing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute an amendment to the agreement with Michael Callagy for services as County Manager.

BACKGROUND:

Pursuant to the County’s Charter, the Board of Supervisors is charged with the appointment of the County Manager, reviewing his performance and setting the compensation of County officers.  This Board appointed Michael Callagy as County Manager beginning in November of 2018. 

 

DISCUSSION:

This amendment will include in the contract the change proposed by the Human Resources department to the Board of Supervisors in the Master Salary Resolution Amendment (MSRA) of December 8, 2020.  The MSRA provides for contributions from the County, each pay period, to a defined contribution plan in an amount equivalent to 6% of the County Manager’s base salary, subject to applicable legal limitations and any limitations set forth in the Master Salary Resolution Amendment.

 

This item has been reviewed and approved by the County Counsel’s Office as to form.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action represents an estimated annual benefits cost of $17,400.
