Recommendation for the reappointment of Patricia Tomlinson to the San Mateo County Civil Service Commission, representing District 1, for a first full term ending December 31, 2024.

BACKGROUND:

The Civil Service Commission consists of five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors with one member from each supervisorial district.  Traditionally, each member of the Board of Supervisors has selected the Commissioner from his or her supervisorial district, subject to the approval of the entire Board of Supervisors.

 

DISCUSSION:

Patricia Tomlinson has served on the Civil Service Commission since her initial partial term begin October 2019. Patricia is a Burlingame resident and Human Resources Executive with over 35 years’ experience in innovative and rapidly changing environments.

 

She has led Human Resources organizations, building and managing all aspects of the function and has facilitated executive and leadership development for both individuals and teams. She currently is a consultant focused on developing human resources functions and serving as an executive and leadership development coach.

 

With Board approval of this appointment, Patricia Tomlinson’s term would coincide with my current term in office, ending December 31, 2024.
