Recommendation for the reappointment of Richard Beadle, representing Coastside member to the Housing and Community Development Committee, for a first full term ending December 31, 2024.

BACKGROUND:

The Housing and Community Development Committee (HCDC) makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors related to the expenditure of all housing and community development funds.  The HCDC also reviews and provides a forum for public comment on affordable housing and community development needs and priorities related to the development of the Consolidated Plan and related Annual Action Plans.

 

DISCUSSION:

Richard Beadle is being recommended for reappointment after serving an initial partial term which began in October 2020 and which expires in December 2020. Upon approval, the term from January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2024, will be Mr. Beadle’s first full term.

 

Richard Beadle is a Montara resident who has an MS degree in Urban Policy and Management from the New School in New York and a BA in politics from UC Santa Cruz. He has expressed his interest in developing affordable housing solutions being involved in other community development needs in San Mateo County, particularly along the Coastside. His combination of educational background and personal enthusiasm are excellent factors in his ability to be an effective member of the HCDC.
