Recommendation for appointments to the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors, each as a Director for an initial term ending September 30, 2023:

BACKGROUND:

The Exposition and Fair Association directs the use of Event Center facilities. Directors are responsible for policy in the management and daily operation and maintenance of the Event Center.

 

DISCUSSION:

Rowena Loloma Meafua lives in South San Francisco and is a Health Aide/ Polynesian Club Adviser for Jefferson High School District for the past 9 years. Rowena was also a former Daly City Commissioner as well as a Jefferson High School Athletic Board Member. She has great skills in planning successful events and has a passion for community involvement.

 

Raymond Juballa lives in Foster City was an Instructional Support Technician/ Farm Hand at Merced College. Raymond served on the Junior Fair Board for four years and was a Project Leader for the 4-H Adult Resources as a volunteer. He really enjoyed being involved at the fair for many years and hopes to improve the Event Center’s accessibility to the diverse communities of San Mateo County.

 

Theresa Faapuaa lives in Daly City and is a Master Teacher at Peninsula Family Service. She is a Board Member Trustee of the Bayshore School District, Commissioner of Daly City Library, and Jefferson High School Booster President. Theresa really enjoys helping her diverse community, respects, and acknowledges Equity.
