BACKGROUND:

The Department of Public Works Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Section (Department) is responsible for the landscape maintenance service throughout the County’s building portfolio.

On November 21, 2017, Resolution No 077594 authorized an agreement with Bayscape Landscaping Management (Bayscape) to provide continuous landscape maintenance and repair services to County facilities.

On February 26, 2018, Amendment No. One added the Maple Street Homeless Shelter to the service list for landscape maintenance and repair services.

The Department recently added the Animal Shelter and the Fair Oaks Parking Lot to the facilities inventory management requiring Bayscape to provide landscape maintenance and repair services at the additional locations.

DISCUSSION:

The Department recommends amending the agreement to extend the term to November 30, 2021 and increase the amount by $255,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,072,976 to continue to provide landscape maintenance services for the County’s facilities portfolio.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this amendment is included in the Department’s Recommended Budget for FY 20-21 and will be financed through Facility Service Charges.

There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
