BACKGROUND:
On October 8, 2019, the Board approved an agreement with StarVista for mental health services and substance use disorder treatment services, for the term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021, in an amount not to exceed $8,821,793.

On May 5, 2020, the Board approved an amendment to the agreement with StarVista adding youth and adult Mental Health First Aid, for the term January 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, increasing the amount by $78,948 to an amount not to exceed $8,900,741. Mental Health First Aid is a highly interactive public education program that teaches attendees how to help individuals experiencing mental illness and/or substance use challenges to connect to an appropriate level of care.

DISCUSSION:
StarVista currently provides: (1) mental health services offered through the Mental Health Plan; (2) Early Childhood Community Team (ECCT) services to young children; (3) staffing of the Co-Chair of the Diversity and Equity Council; (4) Mindfulness-Based Substance Abuse Treatment; (5) texting and social media support through its Crisis Hotline; and (6) recruitment of youth ages 16-24 years that have experienced mental health and substance use challenges to participate in the Health Ambassador Program for Youth ...
