BACKGROUND:
In March 2017, this Board approved the San Mateo Health Campus Project which includes renovation of the nursing wing ground floor and central plant to relocate essential services, demolition of campus administration buildings built in 1954, and construction of a new administration building.

The County of San Mateo Health Campus uses VWR International, LLC (VWR) as the Public Health Laboratory vendor for lab furnishings, equipment, and supplies. New furniture and equipment for the new Public Health Laboratory will be ordered, in addition to reusing existing lab furnishing and equipment previously provided by VWR.

DISCUSSION:
VWR is a market leading vendor for lab furnishings, equipment, and supplies. VWR offers key benefits that include competitive discounted rates as agreed upon in a Master Agreement, reuse of existing furnishings rather than purchasing all new equipment, and
substantial cost savings.

NASPO ValuePoint, the cooperative arm of the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO), awarded VWR a competitively solicited cooperative purchasing agreement under Master Agreement No. MA16000234-2.
