BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The County has conducted an expansive recruitment for the position of Director of Housing. Raymond Hodges has been appointed by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based on his broad experience in the field, including five years working in the County’s Department of Housing where he currently serves as the Interim Director. Prior to joining the County, Mr. Hodges’ served as the Director of Development at New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
Mr. Hodges’ extensive knowledge of the County’s affordable housing initiatives and opportunities as well as his collaborative approach and leadership experience will benefit San Mateo County.
The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm the County Manager’s appointment of department heads.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The compensation and benefits for this position are set forth in the County’s Resolution establishing the salary and benefits for the unrepresented Management Employees of the County approved by this Board in January of 2019.
