BACKGROUND:

The Coastside Design Review Committee (CDRC) reviews new development proposals to ensure that they are compatible with the physical setting of the site and the visual character of the communities of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Miramar, and Princeton.  The Committee reviews development applications for compliance with specific site planning and architectural standards developed for the area.  In Summer 2018, the CDRC initiated on-going discussions through Special Open Study Session meetings for the purpose of updating the current Design Standards for the Midcoast.

DISCUSSION:

Beverly Garrity has served as the Montara Community Representative on the CDRC since her initial partial term in June 2014 and is being recommended for a second full term. She has served as a Chair to the CDRC and the Committee has benefited significantly from her organizational skills and enthusiasm in formalizing the bylaws, procedure, and training process of the CDRC.

Mark Stegmaier has served as an alternate on the CDRC since a partial term in 2019 and will be serving his first full term upon approval of this memorandum. He has thirty years of experience in construction in the Bay Area, including design and drainage. Mark is a United States Army Veteran.

Doug Machado has served as an alternate on the CDRC since 2017 and is being recommended for a second full term. He is a lifelong resident of El Granada with a strong interest in his community. Doug has worked with JW McClenahan Co. for over 20 years. and is a Trade School Graduate and member of the local Plumbers Union.
