BACKGROUND:
The County of San Mateo authorized the procurement and installation of a new Visitors Center at the Sanchez Adobe Park, located at 1000 Linda Mar Boulevard, Pacifica. The new Sanchez Adobe Visitors’ Center will enhance the educational experience for visitors who explore the former Mission Delores Outpost (1786) and Adobe Residence (1842) of Don Francisco Sanchez.
DISCUSSION:
On December 19, 2017, the County published a Request for Proposals seeking a 48 foot by 60 foot modular building to be used for the Sanchez Adobe Visitors’ Center. On February 9, 2017, the County received and accepted a proposal from Modular Space Corporation. On April 24, 2018, this Board authorized an agreement with Modular Space Corporation, which was later amended to establish a not to exceed amount of $733,272.
In August 2018, Modular Space Corporation was purchased by Williams Scotsman Incorporated fully assuming all assets and obligations. An amendment to the agreement with Modular Space Corporation, recognizing this change, is required to process payment to for the modular building and associated work.
County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact as this Board’s action only recognizes the change in the vendor’s name.
