BACKGROUND:

Cal OES has awarded the District Attorney’s Office with $371,724 in grant money via the XC grant program (subaward #XC19020410). The purpose of this grant is to provide federal funding to counties across California during the performance period of January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020. This program is a joint project with local community based organizations to serve victims of violent crime. The nonprofit groups, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse and Rape Trauma Services, will help carry out the program’s objectives and utilize a portion of the program’s funding in the amounts of $152,000 and $126,000, respectively.

DISCUSSION:

The District Attorney’s Office in a joint program with two local community based organizations: Rape Trauma Services and Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse will serve the target population by providing assistance to adolescent victims of violent crime.

Due to both community based organizations functioning as a subrecipient of the XC grant program, there is a need to enter into an Agreement with the District Attorney’s Office in order to authorize and reimburse their grant related expenditures.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The funds for the increased Agreement amount have been included in the FY 2019-21 Adopted Budget.
