BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The County has conducted a nationwide recruitment for the position of Director of Human Services Agency. Kenneth Cole has been nominated by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based on his extensive executive leadership experience, including effectively serving as the Director of Housing during the last four years where he demonstrated a high level of collaboration with our community-based partners, residents, departments and employees. Mr. Cole is solutions-oriented and focuses on positive relationship building. He is dedicated to public service, including serving those most in need.
The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm appointments of department heads nominated by the County Manager.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Kenneth Cole will start at the Director of Human Services Agency Step C level. The compensation and benefits for this position are set forth in the County’s Resolution establishing the salary and benefits for the unrepresented Management Employees of the County approved by this Board in January 2019.
