BACKGROUND:
In June 2018, your Board approved an agreement with Harmony Healthcare, LLC in response to a Request for Proposals for coding services. The agreement has been amended several times to adjust the service level and replace Exhibits A and B in their entirety.

DISCUSSION:
This amendment will increase the funding of the agreement to include an interim Clinical Documentation Specialist to develop a clinical documentation integrity program. This program will assure that the medical record documentation reflects an accurate picture of the patient's diagnoses, care provided, and the quality of care during treatment.

The amendment and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form.

The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).

It is anticipated that emergency department records will be coded within three days of discharge 85% of the time.

FISCAL IMPACT:
